What is a Bridal Shower?
In years gone by, brides who had
lived at home up until their wedding were given a
bridal shower (kitchen tea), where guests would present
gifts, usually kitchen utensils and general kitchenware.
Today, the bridal shower is organised
by the Maid or Matron of Honour and/or bridesmaids,
whilst shower guests generally consist of close friends
and family, wedding guests and female bridal party
members.
The modern bridal shower is also
commonly known as a shower tea or kitchen tea, and
is not to be confused with the bride's hens party.
If you are organising a bridal
shower for a bride who has an established home, you
may opt for a more modern approach, for example; shower
guests bring their favourite cooking recipe and are
allocated a gift such as a cleaning product or kitchen
utensil.
Below is a collection of fun bridal
shower games, which can be used as either ice-breakers
or simply to make any bridal shower both fun and memorable.
