| The
Tradition of Giving Wedding Gifts
In recent times it has become common
practice for invited wedding guests to adorn newlyweds
with a gamut of pre-selected or pre-chosen gifts.
It is interesting to note however,
that in secular tradition it is not actually tradition
for wedding couples to ask for gifts, in fact and it is
widely believed that gifts are more of an offering that
an expectation.
However, since we are in the post secular
age and more and more wedding couples are living together
before marriage, wedding gifts are seen as a way of 'helping'
newlyweds achieve a more fruitful start.
What is a Gift Registry?
This is a shopping point at which your
guests are given a selection of gifts that you and your
partner have chosen. The registry aims to eliminate duplicate
gifts, or gifts that are simply not required.
Guests do not have to use the gift
registry, although they may find it useful as a guide.
Choosing your Wedding Gifts
This is one of the fun tasks that both
you and your partner can undertake. There really is no
rule for this part of your wedding planning process, except
to be realistic about what you need and want, and what
your invited guests can afford.
Once again, more and more newlyweds
are requesting home wares, white goods, furniture and
of course, items for the baby.
Using an Online Gift Registry
Wedding Planning Software Version 1.0.4
comes packaged with 2 types of gift registries.
The first offers real wedding products,
prices, and a shopping checkout point.
The second is a wish list, where you
get to think of anything you would like, that may not
be included in the registry catalogue. Gifts from this
list need to be sourced by the guest and cannot be purchased
from the registry.
